Community House appoints Rondello as director of special events

William D. Seklar, president, and CEO of The Community House, a 94-year-old, non-profit charitable organization located in Birmingham, has announced the appointment of Beverly Hills resident Lori Rondello to director of special events.

In her new position, Rondello will be responsible for developing, planning and executing The Community House’s fundraising events, the cultivation of donors and sponsors and oversee the Development Department’s research, data management, and auction functions.

Rondello comes to The Community House with an extensive background in special events, communications, and marketing. Most recently, she held the interim executive director position at the Birmingham Shopping District. Prior to that, Rondello also held the position of promotions and events manager at the BSD, where she created and maintained events that promoted local businesses and attracted people to downtown Birmingham such as Day On The Town, the Birmingham Farmers Market, and Winter Markt. Rondello also served as communications manager for the Birmingham Bloomfield Community Coalition and as PTSA Council president for her children’s school. Rondello holds a business marketing degree from Liberty (Va.) University.

“It is my pleasure to welcome Lori to The Community House management team,” Seklar said. “Her extensive background, skills, and expertise in special events, communications and marketing, combined with her affection for The Community House and her strong ties to our community, made her the perfect candidate for this most critical position.”
