Judson Center and Child Safe Michigan Joining Forces for the Greater Good

February 9, 2015 Royal Oak, MI… Judson Center is proud and excited to announce the newest member of the Judson Center family, Child Safe Michigan. Child Safe Michigan will complement the current Child and Family Services foster care and adoption programs; expanding both organizations capacity to serve vulnerable children either at-risk of entering or currently in Michigan’s Child Welfare system.  This collaboration will increase the scale and scope of Judson Center’s Child and Family Services programs and allow Judson Center to create new initiatives, such as mentoring programs, for at-risk, abused or neglected children and their families. Together, both organizations will continue to build bright futures for children and families in the community.

Judson Center President & CEO, Cameron D. Hosner, comments, “We are two enlightened charities who have come together to make a lasting and significant difference in the lives of children and families we serve with a more collective and concentrated impact. Together, we recognized a unique opportunity to provide a larger scale and scope of services; a combining of program expertise as visionaries to make possible the greatest good. We are proud to work with the Child Safe Michigan Board and staff who are dynamic leaders in our community.”

Judson Center and Child Safe Michigan will host a press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, February 12, at 10 a.m.-noon (ribbon cutting at 10:45am) at 4415 Springer Avenue in Royal Oak, on Judson Center’s Royal Oak Campus, the site of the new Child Safe offices.  For more information, please contact Judson Center’s Agency Communications and Outreach Manager, Peggy Kerr at (248)837-2019 peggy_kerr@judsoncenter.org.

“There’s efficiencies with scale … for the same dollars we raise, we’d be able to touch the lives of more children and families by having a larger scale with more depth to the organization,” said Child Safe Michigan Chairman Keith Pomeroy, who is chairman of Troy-based Pomeroy Living. In 2014,

Child Safe Michigan successfully completed eight adoptions, and provided 120 children with mentors and foster care services for 51 children.

This is just the exciting beginning to a new day at Judson Center. Serving the community for over 90 years and looking forward to another 90 – hand-in-hand.
