August 1-October 26 - Birmingham Farmers Market Sundays, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The sixth season of the Birmingham Farmers Market will bring a wide variety of locally and regionally grown vegetables, fruits, flowers and garden plants.
The outdoor market is held in Parking Lot 6 on the east side of North Old Woodward, north of Harmon Street, in downtown Birmingham.
August 6-27 - 2008 "In The Park" Summer Concerts Wednesdays, 6 p.m. Free outdoor concerts! Seating is on the lawn - bring a blanket or lawn chair, a picnic spread and enjoy the music!
August 13 - No concert due to Dreamcruise.
August 20 - Birmingham's own guitarist, singer/songwriter Michael King and Scott Wilkinson performing with the Motor City Horns.
August 27 - Paul Keller Orchestra, one of Michigan's premier jazz big bands.

August 11 - North Oakland Foundation - 2008 Annual Charity Golf Open North Oakland Foundation will be hosting their Annual Golf Open at The Wyndgate Golf and Country Club. The Charity Classic is a great day of golf. The day includes gourmet lunch and dinner, fabulous gifts and prizes, and a great auction.

August 16 - 13th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise The Woodward Dream Cruise will transform 16 miles of Woodward Avenue into the world's largest one-day automotive event.

Common Ground, a nonprofit crisis intervention agency, presents its annual fundraiser, Art in the Park. Come see over 200 artists from around the country, showcasing original work in the areas of ceramics, jewelry, paintings, sculpture, photography, glass and more. Additional highlights include live music, a food concourse and a silent auction. Admission to the fair is free.

October 26 - 15th Annual Pumpkin Patch and 72nd Annual Halloween Parade 1 - 4 p.m. Pumpkin Patch at The Community House 4 p.m. Parade starts at the corner of Martin and Bates, near Shain Park
The Pumpkin Patch activities include Moon Bounces, crafts, cookie decorating, games and refreshments. Entertainment includes The Community House Ballet & Jazz School and Youth Theater. The Pumpkin Patch is co-sponsored by the Junior League of Birmingham and The Community House.
Whole Foods will be providing snacks and refreshments at the end of the parade.
