Hands Along Woodward
This year is Woodward Avenue’s 200^th birthday.  Several events have been planned to celebrate this special year, including a 30-day food drive benefiting Gleaners Community Food Bank.  This food drive will begin July 19 and will conclude with this year’s signature event “Hands Along Woodward” on Sunday, August 19 at 2 p.m. Stretching the 27 miles of Woodward Avenue from the Detroit River to the City of Pontiac involving 45,000 people to form a human chain symbolizing a region of strength, heritage, diversity and pride.  Families, business, corporate teams, friends, businesses, churches, everyone is invited to participate.  For more information go to www.woodwardavenue.org.
